My Favorite Cringy Film

There’s a difference between liking something and loving it. I can like something but not love it. And sometimes I can love something I don’t even like. No matter how flawed it is, it has captured my heart and won’t let go.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who feels that way.

Love, Actually is a movie I don’t like. It’s crude in instances, and some of the storylines are mighty cringy. Come to think of it, I think they all are. (Note to self: I need another rewatch to check.)

But for whatever reason, this is a feel-good movie for me. I love it. Can’t help it.

Choose your own adventure: Hometown Probie

My current series, Burning Hearts, wraps up on January 7 with Hometown Probie.

She never planned to fall for a younger man. He never expected to fight for a future with her.

At thirty-nine, Stella sought stability in small-town Elken Grove, not a relationship with a firefighter eleven years her junior. As head chef at The Homestead restaurant, she thought she’d found her sanctuary. But when her boss dies unexpectedly and she discovers something suspicious hidden in the restaurant’s pantry, her quiet life explodes into chaos.

When Stella is framed for arson after stumbling onto evidence of a dangerous conspiracy, twenty-eight-year-old Brandon becomes her unexpected defender. The ex-military firefighter’s protective instincts ignite the moment he meets the composed, capable woman who refuses to back down from a fight.

Despite their powerful connection, Stella’s practical nature sees only obstacles: he’s building his reputation while she’s rebuilding her career; she needs security while he embodies risk. As they uncover the dangerous conspiracy together, their age gap seems insurmountable—until it becomes their strength.

“Hometown Probie” delivers a sizzling OWYM romance where experience meets passion and protection. Perfect for readers who crave mature heroines, devoted heroes, small-town charm, and love stories that prove some age differences are worth embracing.

Here’s where you get to choose.

And I’m not making it easy for you. Please don’t think this is some clever marketing strategy. It isn’t. I just had a good idea, then another good idea, and once I implemented both, I realized they might contradict each other. That’s how brilliant my marketing is. So not.

Option 1: Grab the 99¢ preorder Hometown Probie is on preorder for 99¢ right now. That price goes up a few days before release. If you want it cheap, grab it now.

Option 2: Enter the giveaway I’m running a Goodreads giveaway where you could win a copy. But here’s the catch: the giveaway ends after the preorder price goes up. So if you don’t win but still want the book, you’d pay full price.

See the dilemma? I’ll leave it up to you. Or—here’s a wild idea—do both. Preorder it now AND enter the giveaway. Worst case? You secured your copy at 99¢. Best case? You win and have backup bragging rights.
